چکیده
The central pyridine ring of the 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine fragment of the title compound, C(29)H(29)N(3)O(6), forms dihedral angles of 5.2 (5), 10.1 (5) and 86.0 (6)°, respectively, with the two outer pyridine rings and the benzene ring of the benzo-15-crown-5 fragment.

The formyl group is coplanar with the benzene ring. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H⋯O inter-actions involving the C=O group and ether O atoms as acceptors and methyl-ene CH groups as donors.

The title compound, C(14)H(21)NO(4), has been synthesized from o-dihydroxy-benzene by a three-step reaction. There are two chemically equal but crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The crystal packing is governed by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and C-H⋯π inter-actions, forming an infinite network.
